WARNINGS:
- READ THE MANUAL BEFORE USE.
- Safety Lanyard: Always attach the safety lanyard before powering on the device. The lanyard must also be securely connected to the user to automatically shut down the motor in case of a fall from the watercraft.
- Connections and Batteries: Ensure all wires are properly connected and fully engaged. Verify that batteries are fully charged.
- Pre-Run Testing: Test all connections and the motor at home before heading out on the water. Do not run the motor for more than a few minutes outside of water.
- Disconnecting Wires: Do NOT pull on wires to disengage quick disconnect clips. Always use the body of the disconnect clip.
- Battery Box Safety: Do NOT submerge the battery box in water. While the motor and remote are water-resistant, the battery box is only splash-resistant.
- Electric Fins: The controller is pre-paired with the electric fins set. There is no need to pair before use.
- Component Alterations: Do NOT open or modify components without consulting us first.
- Cables and Caps: Avoid overtightening power cables, charging cables, and protective caps over power and charging ports of the Li battery dry box. Over-tightening can make unscrewing difficult and may loosen the internal nut holding the port inside the dry box.
Maintenance Tips for Prolonging Motor Life:
- Rinse After Saltwater Use: After each use in saltwater, flush the motor with fresh water for at least 2-3 minutes. For best results, run the motor in a bucket filled with fresh water for the same duration.
- Check Power Cable Contacts: Ensure the power cable contacts are clean and free of corrosion. If needed, remove any residue and spray with WD-40 Contact Cleaner. Poor connections can impact motor performance.
QUICK TIPS:
- Steering Made Easy: Use a kayak or SUP paddle, or simply lower one foot into the water to steer your watercraft. For an improvised rudder, tuck one paddle end under your armpit and let the other end trail in the water. Adjust direction by applying gentle pressure to the paddle.
- Avoid Seaweed: Steer clear of seaweed patches to prevent propeller issues.
- If seaweed gets caught in the prop, run the motor in reverse to push it out.
- Alternatively, move to shallow water and manually clear the motor grill.
- Removing the Grill: The motor grill can be removed if needed. Simply take out the two small screws and pull the grill out for easy cleaning or maintenance.
