Steering Options for FPK365 V2.0:
The Saturn FPK365 inflatable kayak is designed with convenience and versatility in mind. Built-in accessory rail tracks make it easy to add your favorite gear, whether it’s fishing rod holders, cup holders, or a fish finder. Paddle holders on the left side keep your paddles secure, while the bungee storage area offers quick access to extra gear during your trip.
For those who want extra power on the water, four strategically placed D-rings on top of the tubes allow you to set up a simple DIY electric motor mount. Just use an 8" wide plywood board secured with lashing tie-downs, then attach a vertical motor plate either on the side or through a cut-out in the floor. Full instructions are available under the Attachments tab.
This kayak also features a removable rotomolded pedal drive well, making transport and storage easier. For smooth installation and removal, simply use a bit of soapy water or shampoo—no forcing required, since the snug fit is designed to lock securely into the drop-stitch floor.
The Saturn FPK365 gives you multiple options—paddle, pedal, or power—so you can enjoy your adventures exactly the way you want.
Saturn FPK365 Inflatable Kayak Specifications:
1. This is NOT a racing kayak.
- Do NOT apply excessive pressure on the pedals to increase speed. Doing so may damage the chains and cables.
- Average kayak speed is 3-4 mph. Overloading with powerful pedal strokes may cause damage, which is not covered by warranty.
2. Pedal Technique:
- Avoid pushing the pedals too fast. Apply steady, light pressure for smooth forward movement.
- A stroke every 2 seconds is sufficient to propel the kayak efficiently.
- Shorter strokes, instead of full-range ones, can also maintain speed.
3. Pedal Drive Locking:
- Ensure the black dot on the pedal well faces backward (towards you). If it's not aligned, deflate the floor section, rotate the rotomolded well part 180 degrees, and re-inflate to fix the unlocking issue.
4. Shallow Water Warning:
- When in shallow waters, prevent the pedal drive fins from hitting the bottom by moving the pedals apart to flatten the fins against the kayak bottom.
5. Carry a Paddle:
- Always bring a paddle as a backup in case of pedal drive issues.
6. Pedal Drive Alignment:
- Ensure the rotomolded insert is aligned straight. Slight movement of the locks during pedaling is normal due to the flexibility of the insert.
7. Safety Gear:
- Always wear a Personal Flotation Device (PFD), carry a whistle and communication device, and inform someone of your trip plans.
8. Spare Parts:
- Contact us if you need spare parts. We're happy to assist!
Question: Can this kayak be used for fishing, how do I add rod holders?
Answer: The kayak comes with two pre-installed accessory gear track mounts, making it easy to attach fishing rod holders, fish finders, and other equipment. Most YakAttack, Railblaza, or Ram accessories are compatible with these mounts. If needed, Scotty glue-on fishing rod holders can also be attached to the top of the tubes or floor. A milk crate with fishing rod holders can be placed on the floor and secured with bungee cords or tie-downs. The setup options are endless for those with creativity and handy skills.
Question: How to replace broken chain?
Answer: We can provide replacement chain if needed. You will need needle nose pliers and painters tape. Please follow easy direction in this YouTube video. No need to fully remove fin, just pull it down slightly, to feed chain into opening.
