Inflatable Sail Catamaran.

What make this product so unique, is that it is absolutely frameless, yet rigid enough for sailing. There are no aluminum frames to complicate assembly, no large and bulky hard parts. Simply unroll, inflate and insert sail mast.

Sailing catamaran consists of two 13' long heavy-duty inflatable pontoons with two independent air chambers each for extra safety, and two inflatable thwarts with flat ends, to push pontoons apart. Extra strong double layered PVC floor with grommets along perimeter is provided for easy lacing in between air chambers.

Once inflated, inflatable catamaran will create rigid structure that can be used for multitudes of water activities, from whitewater rafting, fishing, rowing in an ocean surf, to sailing on a breezy days with winds up to 15mph.

The beauty of this product is that once it is deflated for storage, it folds down to small and lightweight size that can fit into the trunk of the car for storage and transportation.

What makes this inflatable frameless catamaran even more unique, is a vertical round opening in a front thwart that allows insertion of sail mast. Once thwart is fully inflated, it squeezes inserted aluminum mast and provides rigid support for it. 4 heavy duty D-rings are installed on top of pontoons in order to provide additional vertical reinforcement for the mast via adjustable straps that are included with sail kit. See Sail Installation Instructions here.

Two oarlocks for additional rowing oars are installed on top of both tube to allow effortless rowing of inflatable catamaran in case winds die down, to get out or back to the shore, or for whitewater rafting. Due to its catamaran design and lightweight hull, it is extremely easy to row this unique watercraft. It glides effortlessly on a surface of the water with each stroke of oars.

Included aluminum seat bench can be inserted into seat straps for additional rowing comfort or as a seating platform. Two additional oarlocks are glued to outer vertical sides of pontoons and designed to be used for attachment of 2 shorter oars, that will act as a keel for sailing operation.

"There really wasn't any assembly at all; roll it out, inflate it, then done. From rotating the boat on its sides to get at the bottom, I can see that the craft is very rigid. I was very surprised at how rigid it was. The floor seems to be plenty tight right now. I am very satisfied with the overall quality. Another thing that I like is that the bag is the right size- slightly larger than it needs to be so that I don't have to fold it perfectly in order to get it in there. Before I stumbled across the sailcat, I also considered the Sea Eagle Sailcat, but it uses too much metal so it doesn't fold small enough to fit in the trunk of my sedan. Also, it is roughly double the weight so I would have had trouble launching and retrieving single-handed. Not to mention that it costs twice as much! Overall, I'm just so satisfied with this purchase. It is definitely the most rigid inflatable sailboat option out there."

"I took the boat out on Friday. I didn't have a whole lot of wind, but I had a great time. The only thing I changed was to attach a bungee cord to the top of the leeboards and hook them to the metal D-Ring so that they would stay further down in the water, once I got moving they rotated up which made it harder to sail into the wind. Really no big deal at all. Overall, I am a super satisfied customer. I was nervous at first because it was a lot of money to me, but it was clearly worth every penny. Thanks again for the great transaction."

Customer's comments on video:
" It handles very well. For the most part, it sails just like a sunfish, with a few minor exceptions. It is much lighter than any other sailboat, so it picks up speed quickly but also loses it very quickly (very little inertia). This doesn't really matter for a sailboat though. The rudder paddle works very much like a tiller on other boats. The only downside to this boat is as you suspected- small leeboard surface area. It WILL sail into the wind eventually, but requires a few more tacks than a boat with more keel. This isn't a huge issue - just today I was out and there was a wind blowing directly away from the launch area. I eventually made it back, but it took me longer than it would have in a boat with larger keel/rudder surface area. Don't let me worry you, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it - I love this boat. It folds so small but is so stable and large when inflated, there isn't really anything on the market that compares."
