Kayak Pedal Drive Instructions

1. This is NOT a racing kayak.
   - Do NOT apply excessive pressure on the pedals to increase speed. Doing so may damage the chains and cables.
   - Average kayak speed is 3-4 mph. Overloading with powerful pedal strokes may cause damage, which is not covered by warranty.

2. Pedal Technique:
   - Avoid pushing the pedals too fast. Apply steady, light pressure for smooth forward movement.
   - A stroke every 2 seconds is sufficient to propel the kayak efficiently.
   - Shorter strokes, instead of full-range ones, can also maintain speed.

3. Pedal Drive Locking:
   - Ensure the black dot on the pedal well faces backward (towards you). If it's not aligned, deflate the floor section, rotate the rotomolded well part 180 degrees, and re-inflate to fix the unlocking issue.

4. Shallow Water Warning:
   - When in shallow waters, prevent the pedal drive fins from hitting the bottom by moving the pedals apart to flatten the fins against the kayak bottom.

5. Carry a Paddle:
   - Always bring a paddle as a backup in case of pedal drive issues.

6. Pedal Drive Alignment:
   - Ensure the rotomolded insert is aligned straight. Slight movement of the locks during pedaling is normal due to the flexibility of the insert.

7. Safety Gear:
   - Always wear a Personal Flotation Device (PFD), carry a whistle and communication device, and inform someone of your trip plans.

8. Spare Parts:
   - Contact us if you need spare parts. We're happy to assist!

FAQ:

Question: Can this kayak be used for fishing, how do I add rod holders?

Answer: The kayak comes with two pre-installed accessory gear track mounts, making it easy to attach fishing rod holders, fish finders, and other equipment. Most YakAttack, Railblaza, or Ram accessories are compatible with these mounts. If needed, Scotty glue-on fishing rod holders can also be attached to the top of the tubes or floor. A milk crate with fishing rod holders can be placed on the floor and secured with bungee cords or tie-downs. The setup options are endless for those with creativity and handy skills.

Question: How to replace broken chain?

Answer: We can provide replacement chain if needed. You will need needle nose pliers and painters tape. Please follow easy direction in this YouTube video. No need to fully remove fin, just pull it down slightly, to feed chain into opening.

I recently purchased the 12' FPK365 Inflatable Kayak with Fin Pedal Drive, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The pedal drive system offers a unique and enjoyable way to propel the kayak, giving me a great workout while exploring the water. The kayak's construction is top-notch, providing excellent stability and durability. I highly recommend this kayak to anyone looking for a versatile and fun watercraft.

I found this very easy to pedal and quite a lot of fun to be honest. I bought it thinking it could be a workout but find it's just very enjoyable to ride around. All in all it's a 10 out of 10 for me.

I bought a 12' Inflatable Fin Pedal Kayak for me and my spouse. It's durable, customizable, and spacious. Inflation takes time, but it's worth it. Great for fishing trips. Excellent customer support.

Got the 12' Inflatable Fin Pedal Kayak from BoatsToGo and it's exceeded expectations. Surprisingly stable and comfortable, though improved back support would be nice. Overall, a positive experience.

The craft is longer than I was expecting but in a good way, it is very stable and easy to use. The only trouble I experienced was the pedal lock unlocked once or twice while I was using it. The shipping was delayed for a couple of days thanks to FedEx but eventually, the boatstogo team managed to get it moving again, and soon I got it at home. This is a great product and I can easily recommend it.

If you're in the market for a reliable and versatile kayak, look no further than the FPK365 Inflatable Kayak with Fin Pedal Drive. I've had the pleasure of using this kayak on multiple occasions, and it has exceeded my expectations every time. The pedal drive system is a game-changer, offering effortless propulsion and allowing me to cover more distance with ease. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced kayaker, this kayak is a fantastic choice.

This turned out to be great for fishing, I had a bit of trouble assembling it, I wish there was a marking on the rotomolded well to make sure it was oriented properly but other than that I love it. Once it was up and running it was very easy and a joy to use, it's easy to inflate and transport which was a big plus for me. In the future I would love to see more color options, I would definitely buy again.

Surprisingly, the 12' Inflatable Fin Pedal Kayak FPK365 surpassed my expectations. It's much better than what I initially anticipated. So far so good.

The performance of this kayak has been excellent. It handles well in various water conditions, providing a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Despite its inflatable nature, this kayak feels sturdy and reliable. I have confidence in its durability and longevity. Overall good quality.
