11.8' Saturn Hypalon Inflatable boats are most durable of our tenders!

Boat hull made from Achilless Hypalon. Fabric Made In Japan.

New 2020 model now comes with double layer 100mm air deck floor for quick deployment and fiberglass transom!

Hypalon made boats are best suited for use in Tropical environment, where heat and humidity will affect PVC seams in a long run. That is why Hypalon is preferred fabric for boaters in a South hemisphere. If you are cruising in a Florida, Caribbean, Central or South America, then Hypalon fabric boat is a must. It will provide longer life span, and doesn't require as much extra care and protection as PVC boats would. UV rays, heat and humidity does not affect Hypalon made boats when left unprotected as they will affect PVC boats. While PVC boats must be stored in a well ventilated shaded area when not in use, Hypalon boats are less demanding in terms of storage and elements exposure.

Ahilles Hypalon Fabric Structure

New Saturn HP line of inflatable boats manufactured with premium Achilles Hypalon fabric, 1100 denier. 1100D polyester core with Neoprene backing for superior air retention. Hypalon fabric imported from Japan. Achilles warranty on a fabric is 10 years. Warranty from Saturn is 5 years on seams and transom.

The Saturn HP360 Hypalon inflatable boats come standard with high-pressure drop stitch air deck floor that can be inflated up to 10psi. Once inflated, air deck floor will be as rigid as hard floor. Air floor made from PVC, not Hypalon. But, what makes that floor different from other Saturn air floors, is that it is 100mm thick, while all other floors are 80mm. And there is 2nd layer of PVC glued on top. There are no Hypalon drop stich air deck floors available.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Why Hypalon boats are so much more expensive than PVC boats?

A: Hypalon fabric more expensive than PVC fabric. It also require much more workmanship to make Hypalon boats, because each seam need to be manually sanded, and then properly prepared before gluing it all together. Also, Hypalon boats using completely different type of glue than regular PVC boats, which is also more expensive. All around it takes much more efforts to make boats from Hypalon than from PVC.

Q: Why Saturn HP boats comes with PVC air deck floor instead Hypalon?

A: Because Achilles Japan does not offer Hypalon drop stitch air deck floors to other boats manufacturers. However, air deck floors used in Saturn HP boats are heat welded at seams, extra thick, and has additional layer glued on top of floor for extra protection.

Q: Should I cover Hypalon boats when not in use?

A: As with any inflatable boats, it is highly recommended to cover inflatable boat with boat cover, in order to protect against dirt, grime and residue.

Note: Specifications and accessories are subject to change without notice. Max O/B Motor means: maximum power of outboard motor that can be safely used to plane the boat loaded to the maximum capacity at normal water surface conditions. Please exercise common sense and caution when using maximum motor capacity. Do not jump from wave to wave as new 4-stroke motors are much heavier then 2-stroke and provide extra strain on the transom. Under normal circumstances, with half the maximum persons/load capacity, 50% of maximum O/B power rating may be necessary to put the boat on plane.

I have had bad experiences in the past with inflatables and seams coming apart. I live in a very hot and humid area which is known to be terrible for regular glued seams. I personally hate doing much maintenance on my things, I really value my time and prefer to buy things that last even if they are a bit more expensive.

When I saw the claims for Hypalon I was a bit skeptic but after a while I can see this is going to hold up very well. Despite the higher price tag this thing pays for itself, I would have had to buy a new inflatable by now making it even more expensive.

Overall I am very happy with the product, I will report back here if I have any other issues. For now I can recommend this boat.
