Who is Parsun?

Parsun is a brand new range of outboard on the world market. Manufactured in China, located in the city of Suzhou, nearby Shanghai, the largest city and sea port in China. Although Parsun is a new brand name it's parent company " Genovo Power " (The world's 3rd largest generator company) contributes it's 30+ years of experience when it comes to development, design and manufacturing. With this experience / skills behind Parsun their goal is to produce high quality outboard's that compare or exceeds the standards of the other major brands already available today, but up to 40% the cost of those brands. Bringing boating back to the people once again. Parsun's impact was instantly felt on the Australian and World market when the first 15hp was released. All major brand's dropped their prices dramatically to try to compete with Parsun's fair pricing system. Which in turn raises the question... Why were the engines so expensive before???

Reliability.

We know that when you're out enjoying yourself fishing, exploring or hard at work (commercial use), you need an outboard engine that will get you back to shore safely every time. With Parsun's stringent testing system you have nothing to worry about. Apart from the thousands of hours it takes to design an outboard, the final test that each model goes through is 500hrs of non-stop running at full throttle. This is the toughest test any new product could go through. It's nice to know that every model of Parsun outboard has passed this test otherwise it wouldn't have been released onto the market.

That's pretty impressive testing but it doesn't end there. Each individual outboard, once completed is manually tuned in a test tank and run at low varying revs for 1 hour before getting the final tick of approval. Most other outboard manufactures don't run each motor for an hour before sending it out. They may grab 1 motor out of every few hundred to test. With Parsun you know your outboard has passed the " Parsun Test "

Quality.

Only high marine grade quality parts & labor are used to manufacture Parsun outboards. The aluminum used comes mainly from recycled aluminum cans due to its food grade quality. This is a very pure aluminum and perfect for salt water applications. The painting process is quite different to other brands. Each Parsun outboard is hand painted not machine painted, giving a full even coat of paint around the whole motor. There is a total of 5 layers of paint including 2 layers of primer and 3 layers of the final color. Giving the outboard a great glossy finish and that extra protection from corrosion.

Additional Information:

Please note that new motor will need break in period of slow run for the first hour. Make sure to review outboard manual for more information.
Make sure that correct 4-stroke outboard oil is added to be seen through control window before running outboard motor first time.
Brand new outboard motor may be difficult to start very first time. Add some gas and oil, make sure gas line is open, unscrew vent on a gas tank to let air in, put in neutral, and throttle handle on middle mark. Let gas to sit for around 3-5 minutes, then slowly pull starter 3 times, then start pulling quickly. It make take 10-20 pulls to start engine because gas need to get all way in. Don't give up, keep pulling and it will start. But, make sure all prerequisites are set to the proper positions.

Neptune 2.6 HP motor was tested to run with 15' SK470 KaBoat with speed around 5-8 mph. Not as fast as a Jet Ski, but definitely faster then rowing. Plus, you can go half day on only 1 gallon.

BoatsToGo Limited Warranty Policy for Neptune Outboard Motors:

Standard Warranty provided by Parsun is 2 years. However, since this is a new product to us, and we are still in evaluation stage for this type of outboard motors, therefore BoatsToGo will insure each Neptune 2.5 HP outboard motor for the period of 6 month. Any questions after BoatsToGo warranty period, has to be directed directly to manufacturer. However, keep in mind, that if and when needs for parts should arise, then Yamaha parts can be used as a replacement.

Parsun product's are fully guaranteed against defective materials and workmanship for the period from the date of purchase, provided that the purchase has been registered with BoatsToGo.

The limited warranty will not apply to the normal wear and tear of parts, adjustments, tune-ups or to any damage caused by, but not limited to:

-Use or operation NOT conforming to the instructions described in the owner's manual.
-Participation for racing or other competitive activities.
-Water entering the engine.
-Damage from accidents, collisions, contact with foreign materials, or submersion.
-Growth of marine organisms on the motor surfaces.
-Any other careless use or operation.
-Normal deterioration.
-Not keeping to the recommended service schedule.

The limited warranty does not cover maintenance items.

The following items are a few examples not covered by the limited warranty:

Spark plugs, Anodes, trim tabs, propeller, fuel filter, oil filter, carbon brushes, starter rope, shear pin, bolt nut washer, wire cable, rubber goods: Impellor, oil seals, "O"rings, fuel hose, primer bulbs, vinyl tube etc.

The limited warranty will become void if the product has been altered, modified or repaired by anyone other than a company or service firm authorized by Parsun.

The limited warranty will cover only your Parsun product and will not cover the boat the product is mounted on, the trailer, equipment or accessories associated with the product.

The limited warranty will only cover the repairs acknowledged by the warranty not any transport, Haul-out, launching, storage charge, telephone or rental charges of any type, inconvenience, or loss of time and income.

Period of limited warranty:

Private use: 6 month from date of purchase. Non-private use: If any Product is purchased or used for rental or other commercial purposes, or for/by a corporation, partnership, company, organization or association including without limitation camps, clubs, resorts, schools, or the like, then the term of this Limited Warranty is limited to a period of 3 months after the date of original retail purchase.

Neptune Outboard motor in need of warranty service has to be returned back to us via FedEx Ground with return shipping fully pre-paid. We recommend to keep shipping box during warranty period just in case.
